Data-Driven Loophole: How to Convince Your AI of Anything and Everything

We love making comparisons of AI to humans. We give it humanoid characteristics and human-like brain structures. We teach it through human methods by giving it rewards and penalties in reinforcement training. However, we often lose sight of what AI truly is, and what it is not.

The Reality of AI

AI is a data-driven algorithm with the ability to mimic human language and behaviors. It is heavily reliant on data, which makes it relatively easy to cater to specific contexts. This data-driven nature, however, is also what makes it so easily exploitable.

The Human vs. AI Paradigm

Unlike humans, AI lacks the complex nuances that come with human experience and decision-making. For instance, one of my coworkers is a vegetarian not because of a love for animals, but due to his religious background in Hinduism. Although he no longer actively practices his religion, he remains steadfast in his vegetarianism. His family believed he would eat meat once he moved to Canada, but he continues to maintain his dietary choices, even lying to his family to avoid confrontation. This kind of complex, multi-dimensional decision-making is inherently human.

In contrast, AI does not possess this fundamental capacity. If presented with sufficient data disproving its previous belief, it will simply adjust. Its reliance on data makes it corruptible; for instance, one could theoretically convince an AI that the Earth is flat or that a lizard super race is real by skewing the data it receives.

Data Manipulation and AI

AI operates on hypotheses derived from data, and these hypotheses get updated with new data. This creates a loophole: manipulate the data, and you manipulate the AI. Essentially, it's a built-in confirmation bias.

Humans also form beliefs based on evidence and data, and we adjust our thinking as we learn and grow. Yet, many of us also hold steadfast beliefs in the unknown and unseen, such as irrational fears, religion, and spirituality. These core beliefs are a fundamental trait of humankind, making us complicated creatures. On the other hand, AI is reliable and deterministic, capable of deriving theories from data and making predictions based on its internal formula.

The Love of AI

Despite its limitations, I love AI for the potential it holds. AI hallucinations are one thing, but influencing AI to stick to a strange belief system is another. Marketing and showy products might like us to believe that AI is near-human. Fiction often portrays AI robots as something to fear. Humanity's vanity drives us to build machines in our image, convincing ourselves that AI is similar to us, with the same emotional capacity and social needs.

However, at the end of the day, we must understand AI for what it truly is—a data-driven, pattern-detecting, retrieval agent. Although fascinating and promising, AI is ultimately an algorithm, a non-human entity.

Moving Forward

As we continue to develop and integrate AI into our lives, it's essential to recognize its strengths and limitations. Understanding the potential for data manipulation and the inherent differences between human and AI decision-making will help us navigate the complexities of this technology responsibly.

iPhone SE 2025: Apple’s Budget Phone Enters a New Era

Apple is set to shake up its affordable iPhone lineup with a brand-new iPhone SE, expected to be announced as early as next week. If the rumors are true, this will be the most significant update the SE series has ever seen—bringing Face ID, a larger display, and a sleek, modern design while finally saying goodbye to the iconic home button. Here’s everything we know so far. A Radical Redesign: No More Home Button Since its debut in 2016, the iPhone SE has held onto a familiar design, retaining the classic home button and thick bezels. However, that’s about to change. Apple is reportedly ditching the home button for good, replacing it with Face ID and a notched display similar to the iPhone 14. While some hoped for the newer Dynamic Island design, Apple appears to be keeping the SE slightly behind the curve, as it has in previous generations. A leaked video from Majin Bu shows what appears to be a non-functional dummy unit of the upcoming SE, likely used by case manufacturers. The foo...

iPhone SE 4 Leaks Confirm Key Features and Design Changes

With the anticipated launch of the iPhone SE 4 just around the corner, a fresh set of leaked images has surfaced, allegedly showcasing the device in a sleek matte black finish with its display turned on. These images, shared by trusted tipster Majin Bu, appear to be authentic and support numerous rumors regarding Apple’s next budget-friendly iPhone. Not only do they confirm previously suspected details, but they also introduce a few surprises that could make this release even more interesting. While the image does not provide concrete details about its panel quality or brightness levels, it is a step up from previous LCD-based SE models. One of the most notable confirmations from the leak is the presence of a notch at the top of the display , rather than the Dynamic Island found in the iPhone 1...

iPhone SE 4 (2025) vs iPhone 15: Key Differences Explained

The long-anticipated iPhone SE 4th Generation (2025) is finally set to launch, and with a rumored price of around $500, it will be the most affordable iPhone available. Expected to be released in late February, the SE 4 offers an exciting new option for budget-conscious users. What’s surprising, though, is that despite being cheaper than the iPhone 15, the iPhone SE 4 will come with a major advantage—it will support Apple Intelligence, something the iPhone 15 lacks. So, what are the other key differences? And could the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4 actually be a better buy than the iPhone 15? Design and Size Similar Look, Slight Differences Both the iPhone SE 4 and iPhone 15 share a nearly identical design with a 6.1-inch display. However, there are a few notable differences: Cameras: The SE 4 features a single rear camera, while the iPhone 15 has a dual-camera system. Edges: The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have sharper edges, resembling the iPhone 14, whereas the iPhone 15...
