Sony Phasing Out PS4 Games from PlayStation Plus in 2026

Sony has announced a major shift in its PlayStation Plus service, confirming that PlayStation 4 titles will no longer be included in PlayStation Plus Essentials monthly games or the Games Catalog starting January 2026. Moving forward, the service will prioritize PlayStation 5 content.

This change was subtly disclosed in a PlayStation Blog post outlining the monthly game lineup for February 2025. Alongside the game announcements, Sony provided an update regarding the future of PlayStation Plus offerings.

A Shift Towards PS5

“As we transition to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only occasionally be featured in PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and the Games Catalog,” Sony stated. However, players who have already claimed PS4 titles through PlayStation Plus will retain access to them. Meanwhile, Games Catalog titles will remain playable until they are removed during routine updates.

Sony reassured subscribers that PlayStation Plus would continue evolving, enhancing benefits such as exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, and cloud save storage. “As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles each month for our subscribers to enjoy,” the company added.

The End of an Era for PS4

The PlayStation 4 debuted in 2013, followed by the PlayStation 5 in 2020. Over a decade later, Sony recognizes that an increasing number of its player base has transitioned to the newer console. According to the company, most users now redeem and engage with PS5 titles, making it a logical step to phase out PS4 support in PlayStation Plus.

What remains uncertain is whether Sony will relocate PS4 titles to the Classics Catalog, which currently includes ports and remasters of PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 games. More details on these changes are expected closer to the transition date in 2026.

This strategic shift underscores Sony’s commitment to the future of gaming, ensuring that PlayStation Plus subscribers receive fresh and optimized experiences tailored for the latest console generation.

Here’s everything we know so far. A Radical Redesign: No More Home Button Since its debut in 2016, the iPhone SE has held onto a familiar design, retaining the classic home button and thick bezels. However, that’s about to change. Apple is reportedly ditching the home button for good, replacing it with Face ID and a notched display similar to the iPhone 14. While some hoped for the newer Dynamic Island design, Apple appears to be keeping the SE slightly behind the curve, as it has in previous generations. A leaked video from Majin Bu shows what appears to be a non-functional dummy unit of the upcoming SE, likely used by case manufacturers. The foo...

So, what are the other key differences? And could the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4 actually be a better buy than the iPhone 15? Design and Size Similar Look, Slight Differences Both the iPhone SE 4 and iPhone 15 share a nearly identical design with a 6.1-inch display.
